I love Caramel Cadbury eggs. It's a problem. A major one. The day after Easter I wake up as early as possible and head to the nearest Target or Wal-Mart, find the caramel cadbury eggs and buy about $30 worth of them to stash away in my house. I try to make them last as long as possible and limit it to one egg a day, but sometimes I'll skip a meal and just eat two of those eggs instead of whatever healthy food I have readily available. I know it's terrible. I know it's probably going to give me diabetes in the long run. But I can't help.
This past year, however, I managed my Cadbury habit pretty well. I kept it to one egg every other day and basically stretched all the eggs I bought out for an impressive three months and gave away as many as I could to people who visited my house.
But then they just had to go and do something like this.
These low down, no good, dirty bastards had to go and make an Oreo Cadbury egg.
It turns out that they've been available in Canada for quite some time, and they just debuted in the UK.
Which hopefully means that a US release date is on the horizon. But, in addition to filling these delicious chocolate domes with Oreo cookie cream and chocolaty, biscuit goodness, there's a new "feature" the Oreo eggs have.
Plastic outer coating. That's right, no more ripping off annoying pieces of foil to get your Cadbury fix.
They're also available in mini-eggs as well, in case you wanted more bite size deliciousness.
But where's the fun in that? When I eat a Cadbury egg, I want it to bite into a big chunk of chocolate. I want to feel like I'm about to eat an omelette and then decide, "No, I want sugar and fat instead and it will be glorious."
Because it always is. These can't come stateside soon enough. And even if they don't, Canada's not that far of a drive, now is it?
