Donald Trump Jr. is in hot water after it emerged that he had attended a meeting with a Russian lawyer who supposedly had ties to the Russian government during his father's presidential campaign. In emails obtained by The New York Times and later released by Trump Jr., the lawyer offered incriminating details on opponent Hillary Clinton.
Donald Trump Jr. defended himself by saying that no details were exchanged in the meeting. He went on to add that the lawyer mainly wanted to discuss the adoption of Russian children by American parents, which was put on hold as part of the Obama administration's sanctions on the country.
Yesterday, Sarah Huckabee Sanders released a statement from President Donald Trump, which included the rather odd phrase: “My son is a high quality person and I applaud his transparency.”
"High quality," isn't exactly how you'd expect a father to describe their son, and Twitter was quick to point it out.
"High-quality" is how you talk about wood flooring, not your son.— Jon Lovett (@jonlovett) July 11, 2017
Me at the birth of my son, tears in my eyes, pride in my heart: "My god, he's high quality"— Colin Jones (@colinjones) July 11, 2017
Every year on my birthday my dad mails me a card telling me I'm a high quality person.— Jesse Case (@jessecase) July 11, 2017
You're all high-quality people.
