Memorial Day is the annual holiday we set aside to remember those who died serving in the armed forces. Ivanka Trump, daughter to the President, is drawing some criticism after her "Team Ivanka" business account posted a tweet recommending champagne popsicles to celebrate the day! The tweet included a link to Trump’s , including picnic and barbecue tips.
While Ivanka is far from the first to post about alcoholic drinks on Memorial Day, Twitter is holding the first daughter to a somewhat higher standard:
The internet is NOT amused:
Many realize it's possible Ivanka didn't personally tweet the message:
Others are comparing the tweet to a post from Chelsea Clinton:
But everyone seems to agree the message was a bit tone-deaf:
Would it even be Twitter if users didn't make snarky memes?
Twitter's reference game is on point!
While it's true the tweet in question was from Ivanka's brand page, her personal account didn't post about Memorial Day until hours after the champagne tweet went viral. The later post went out at roughly the same time as her father's speech at Arlington National Cemetery honoring our fallen soldiers.
