If you don't already follow J.K. Rowling on Twitter, we highly advise that you do. For the last few weeks, she's been roasting Trump supporters after his controversial 'Muslim ban' took effect before being struck down by the courts. It's amazing.
And now she's gone after one of Trump's biggest supporters — Piers Morgan. On Real Time last night, Jim Jefferies told Piers Morgan to "fuck off" after Morgan denied that Trump's ban targetted Muslims.
Rowling was quick to share the clip, because who wouldn't?
Morgan struck back, saying that he's never read a word of Harry Potter.
As you can imagine, that started a bit of a fight between the two.
Morgan deleted his next tweet, but thankfully, someone grabbed a screenshot.
Rowling then retweet a Daily Mail article in which Morgan compared Lance Armstrong to Voldemort. He's totally never read a word of Harry Potter, though.
And then this happened. Ouch.
And just to twist the knife further, she reminded Morgan of that time Harry Potter had beaten his autobiography in the British Book Awards.
Here's how Morgan responded...
Even Patton Oswalt joined in.
As did George Takei.
Well, that was an interesting Saturday morning.
Though she already has an enormous Twitter following that seems to keep her busy all day long, J.K. Rowling is always ready to light up her mentions with a few controversial tweets. One of her favorite things to do is "apologize" for killing of characters in the Harry Potter series.
Yes, you made us love them, then you took them away. It's what a writer does, but we're still mad. We're still not over Albus Dumbledore's untimely death — and there is no way you read the details of his funeral at Hogwarts and not shed a tear over the pages. So, now the author is taking the time to ask for forgiveness when it comes to the deaths in the seven-book series on a very poignant date, the anniversary of the Battle of Hogwarts, which is celebrated by Potterheads every May 2.
You can see her latest apology here.
