Rapper and icon Cardi B has just given birth to her baby, after a much-publicized pregnancy. In classic Cardi fashion, she announced it on Instagram with an astonishingly gorgeous photo of her pregnant belly.
Cardi has a flare for drama and glam, and this is exactly the kind of event that deserves both. She also announced the baby girl's name: Kulture Kiari Cephus. A name for a tiny queen!
Cardi B is married to Kiari Kendrell Cephus, better known as Offset, and their romance has been keeping everyone on their toes.
They had an extremely public engagement, when Offset proposed to her onstage with an enormous freaking rock.
Then in a twist, it turned out that they had actually gotten married in 2017, at least a month before that proposal. Cardi B, who is nothing if not frank about her experiences, told TMZ they had a good reason for keeping it secret. They actually do like some privacy.
"There are so many moments that I share with the world and then there are moments that I want to keep for myself!" she said. "Getting married was one of those moments! Our relationship was so new, breaking up and making up and we had a lot of growing up to do but we was so in love we didn't want to lose each other."
She continued: "I said I do, with no dress no make up and no ring! I appreciate and love my husband so much for still wanting for me to have that special moment that every girl dreams of when he got down on his knee and put a ring on my finger and he did that for me!!"
They've clearly worked it out, because Offset and Cardi B are very much on the same page now. He announced the arrival of baby Kulture with yet another incredible pregnancy pic:
But this isn't even everything Cardi B has done this month.
In early July, she broke yet another record and became the first woman rapper to ever get two Hot 100 Billboard hits. First, she got one for "Bodak Yellow," now she's climbed the charts again with "I Like It," which is an absolute banger.
Thank you to my entire team and to the Bardi Gang for another #1 record!!! You all work so hard and I appreciate every one of you for everything you do for my music and my business! A huge thank you to @jbalvin and @badbunnypr for being apart of this moment!! Thank you to the entire team over at Atlantic Records!! Thank you to @jwhitedidit for producing another hit!! Thank you to @brooklyn.johnny @evanlaray and Darryl!! And I can't forget to thank @iam_kingpee @qcmceo_p @coachk44!
And though having a baby is clearly the big accomplishment of the week, we can still have fun with some other Cardi B news.
Like the tattle-tale Cardi meme:
Cardi B posts lots of pictures of herself as a kid to Instagram, to her fan's delight. But this one of a tiny Cardi looking like she's telling someone off has become a favorite meme that embodies the most annoying kid you knew on the playground.
On Instagram, Cardi seems slightly annoyed by her 5-year-old self getting memed:
But on Twitter, she's laughing:
It's getting out of hand:
That little girl grew up to be a mega-star, but she has always stayed true to who she is. Someone who shops at Target:
Maybe Kulture will have a more normal childhood than you would guess of someone born to millionaire parents.
Eight years after the series finale of Lost, fans are still obsessed with the ABC series. While some stick to rewatching their favorite episodes or defending the show's very divisive finale for the hundredth time, others take their fandom to a very permanent level. And by permanent, we mean getting a Lost-inspired tattoo that will definitely start a conversation at any party. Fans have taken to social media platforms such as reddit and Twitter to show off their ink and explain why they felt compelled to take recurring symbols — or that now-iconic number sequence 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42 — from the drama and brand themselves Lost loyalists for life.
Over the course of the show's 118 episodes, there has been plenty of tattoo inspiration to prove yourself to be a self-proclaimed member of Dharma. Others chose to pay a more subtle homage to Jack, Kate, Sawyer, John, and the rest of the Flight 370 survivors with their tats (Roman numerals) while some went the comedic route — Hurley's hot pocket, anyone?
