‘I swapped hospital scrubs for Babestation after cruel condition took hold of my body – and I don’t care if people judge me for it.’

A former hospital worker has revealed how she swapped gruelling shifts to become a professional ‘babe’ on an iconic adult TV channel – and she “doesn’t care” who judges her for it.

Brooksie Brooks used to spend her days slogging away as a receptionist doing 12-hour shifts – but behind the scenes, her body was breaking down.

She was just 21 when doctors told her she had multiple sclerosis (MS), a cruel condition that attacks the brain and spinal cord.

It left Brooksie, from Leeds, feeling drained, numb and at times unable to walk.

Sitting behind a desk all day with little flexibility and a stagnant salary also quickly made the 32-year-old rethink her future.

Wanting more freedom, she made a “life-changing” decision by applying to work on Babestation – and landed the job.

Now in control of her time and finances, Brooksie says she has “never felt more empowered.”

“Walking into that studio for the first time was the moment my life changed – for the first time in years, I felt like I was in control again,” she said.

“When I worked at the hospital, I used to feel drained, invisible and stuck in a system that didn’t understand me.

“I experience extreme fatigue and I can’t plan for it – if I have an MS flare-up, it can strike completely at random. The uncertainty of the disease is very hard to live with, particularly as I have no control over it.

“I loved working with patients but the hours were brutal and I had so much time off sick that my employer started deducting it from my wages.

"Some days I’d be so exhausted that I’d lock myself in the toilets on my lunch break and sleep instead of eating – that’s when I knew I couldn’t do it anymore.

“I needed flexibility and my traditional workplace couldn’t – or wouldn’t – give it to me.”

Brooksie, who worked as an exotic dancer before joining the site, says the move has not only boosted her confidence but given her a lifestyle she never thought possible.

She said: “Beyond managing my own time, what really appealed to me was Babestation’s reputation – it’s such a popular, well-known brand. I can work when I want, on the days I choose, and manage my lifestyle around my health.

“Having complete control over my work makes it possible for me to manage my symptoms. Plus, they do so much to support you and your brand – from photo shoots and talent management to podcasts and themed shoots."

During a recent flare-up, Brooksie was able to take five months off and still manage to keep herself afloat.

While her family were unsure about her career change at first, they are now backing her all the way after seeing the transformation to her health.

She said: “My mum was hesitant at first but now says she can see how well I’m doing – better than many MS patients this far into their diagnosis. For the first time in years, I’m in control of my life. That feeling is priceless.

“I don’t get financial support from anyone else, so being able to build a nest egg for when I’m unwell is life-changing. I could never do that in a fixed-salary job.

“Now, if I wake up fatigued, I don’t have to panic about phoning in sick. I just listen to my body and work when I can – it takes away so much stress.

“I also feel powerful, sexy and confident – like the woman I was always meant to be. I get to be authentically myself working for Babestation.”
