Now that spooky season is in full swing, it's only appropriate that Netflix would deliver horror content that could creep out even the most ardent fans of the genre.

In October of 2018, The Haunting of Hill House became a breakout hit for the streaming service. The series centered around the Crain family, who move into the Hill House with the hopes of renovating it. They soon learn that there are bigger forces at hand who want them gone.

The second installment in The Haunting anthology series is The Haunting of Bly Manor, and many of the actors from the first edition are back as new characters. Based loosely on the 1898 Henry James novella The Turn of the Screw, Bly Manor focuses on a family in London in 1987, whose children cause quite a stir with their caretakers.

Kate Siegel — who starred as child psychologist Theodora Crain in Hill House — is back for one episode of Bly Manor.

In 2016, Kate and her husband co-wrote the screenplay for Hush, a horror film about a deaf woman named Maddie Young who gets targeted by a killer inside of her own home. Kate played Maddie, though she herself is not deaf.

The actress discussed playing the character in a 2016 interview with Movable Fest.  When asked if she knew sign language before taking on the role, Kate said that she did not.

"No, I worked with an incredible coach who drilled me night and day on the signs and also helped me really understand the experience of not experiencing the wealth of someone who can hear. That was such a gift as to what kind of person Maddie is and the way she interacts with the world..." she explained. "I had been prepping her for nine months by the time we showed up."

Kate Siegel appears in the eighth episode of 'The Haunting of Bly Manor.'

Though Kate acted in all 10 episodes of The Haunting of Hill House, she is in just one episode of The Haunting of Bly Manor. She plays Viola in "The Romance of Old Clothes," the eldest daughter of a 17th century man named Mr. Willoughby. After he dies, she and her sister, Perdita, are left in charge of their estate, Bly Manor, until they can get married.
