Students Throw Party For Professor Who Hates Surprises And Things Got Awkward

There are some people who genuinely hate surprises. Well, I really don't know anybody personally who dislikes surprises, at least not happy ones. Nobody really likes an unpleasant surprise, obviously. But this teacher apparently is against all surprises, even the kind designed to make you feel good. At least that's what his reaction to a student trying to surprise him with a party would seem to indicate. Let this be a word to the wise: always make sure you know how someone feels about being surprised before you go to the trouble to do something like this. Otherwise, you may end up getting an unpleasant surprise in return.
I guess the only person I can think of who hates surprises is fictional: Kevin Spacey's character from Horrible Bosses, but I guess that character is based somewhat on reality, so it has to be true, right?
So although I can't understand why in the hell someone wouldn't be happy that one or more people took enough time and care to surprise them with a party or a celebration, I can understand the frustration someone has when another person deliberately won't listen to something they said.
Like this teacher who was so pissed off at his students for throwing him a surprise party that he took one of their phones and threw it to the ground. Making things very, very awkward.
However it turns out that there's more to this story than meets the eye.
Seems like the entire thing was a very, very well orchestrated prank, one that Professor Endermann took part in.
Which is why you can't believe everything you see on the internet. However, I will say this, the silence in that room after he threw the phone was convincing as all hell.
