Who Is AOC Dating? Meet Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's Boyfriend, Riley Roberts

Oct. 20 2020, Updated 5:37 p.m. ET

From the moment she was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2018, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has been making waves in politics. At age 29, she became the youngest woman to ever serve in the United States Congress. Her strong social media presence and Twitter clap-backs have been noteworthy, too. So it makes sense that people would be curious about her personal life — and specifically, whether AOC has a boyfriend.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's boyfriend is Riley Roberts.

Although AOC prefers to keep certain details about her personal life private — like her relationship — we did find some information about her boyfriend. Alexandria and Riley Roberts met and started dating while in college at Boston University, for starters. And according to Riley's LinkedIn profile, he's a UX Growth Consultant who “helps SaaS and subscription startups sustainably grow their monthly recurring revenue."

If you were curious, Riley has AOC's mom's stamp of approval.

"I love him. He is the most loving, supporting person I've seen. He helped her tremendously during the election," Blanca Ocasio-Cortez told the Daily Mail in March 2019. "They've been together for four years now, after they reconnected from a college breakup. I know they love children, and they do very well with children from the family. So, I hope they get married soon. Although they haven't told me anything about their plans."

Alexandria's boyfriend appears in the Netflix film 'Knock Down the House.'

Netflix's Knock Down the House follows the stories of "four inspiring women who took on history in the 2018 midterm election," which included AOC. In the documentary, viewers got a glimpse of the elected official's boyfriend — and let's just say "bin raccoon" was among the terms used to describe Riley.

"The internet roasted Riley into getting a haircut / glow-up after Knock Down the House," Alexandria captioned an Instagram Story video of Riley after his transformation.

AOC later explained via Twitter that neither she nor her boyfriend had gotten haircuts in months because of the election — which is also why she wore her hair in a bun so often.

AOC and her boyfriend got a puppy together.

In January 2020, Alexandria adopted a French bulldog puppy with her boyfriend; she took to her Instagram Story to announce the adorable news.

One Twitter follower then asked, "Will your pup be coming to the hill with you???"

“The goal is to train him to be a community pup,” AOC replied, sharing a photo of her puppy. “Ideally we want to work to the point where he can enjoy town halls, be an Amtrak pup, come to the office, etc. But first, naps.”

Later on in January, Alexandria revealed the name she and Riley chose for their French bulldog: Deco.

"A neighbor suggested we name him after an artist," she wrote. "We loved that idea, and decided to name him after Riley & I's favorite design styles: Art Deco — which is also inspired by themes of optimism & social and technological progress, and is a fixture in iconic NYC architecture."

If Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her boyfriend Riley have a dog together, then things must be serious between them. We wish them the best in their relationship as AOC seeks a second term in the U.S. House of Representatives on Election Day.
