While every Usher song, MIA's "Paper Planes," and "Mr. Brightside" were crucial middle school formal songs, one jam that was consistently stuck in my head throughout the mid-2000s was Webstar and Young B's "Chicken Noodle Soup."

And if you, too, were a big fan of the hip-hop staple, you'll be happy to know BTS' J-Hope and Becky G recently decided to sample it.

For real, though — BTS' "Chicken Noodle Soup" remix is a major TBT — I feel like I've stepped into a time machine.

It all started when California-based pop singer, Becky G, posted an oddly cryptic tweet on Sept. 25. It read: "Soooo... #BeckyHasAnotherSecret."

Nobody really knew what Becky was referring to until K-Pop group BTS responded: "Hey @iambeckyg, I have a secret, too...#CNS." While fans were skeptical as to what this could mean, a collaboration was heavily implied. Then, lo and behold, two days later on Sept. 27, BTS' J-Hope and Becky G released a remix of Webstar's "Chicken Noodle Soup."

The BTS "Chicken Noodle Soup" remix was an unexpected, but very welcome, surprise.

It's a little unclear as to why the two decided to use the hook from the insanely catchy 2006 song, but according to BuzzFeed, J-Hope used inspiration from Webstar and Young B’s "Chicken Noodle Soup" (which featured Bianca Bonnie & The Voice of Harlem), when he first started dancing. So that's pretty cute.

Make sure to watch the music video for J-Hope and Becky G's new banger, below.

Oh, and while you're at it, you may want to re-watch the OG video from Webstar and Young B. You'll get to see where J-Hope gets his dancing inspo, and you'll also get to see what I listened to every morning while I straightened my hair and answered AIM messages in 7th grade. Cute.

In all honesty, though, this song and music video hit home. It truly defines every millennial's middle school experience.

And since every big song release is now accompanied by a TikTok challenge nowadays, it should come as no surprise that there's a "Chicken Noodle Soup" challenge.

According to CNN, J-Hope started the challenge soon after the video was released, by posting a TikTok video in which he flapped his arms to the song. Almost immediately, online fans — who have coined the nickname BTS Army — started posting videos doing the same thing, using the hashtag #CNSChallenge. See some examples, below.

The original singer of "Chicken Noodle Soup," Young B, is still performing.

In case you were wondering about Young B (full name: Bianca Bonnie Dupree), she is now 28 years old, and after attending NYU, she was cast in VH1's Love & Hip Hop: New York.

She stayed through Seasons 7 and 8, and it seems as though she's still performing. On March 13, 2019, she headlined for New York's UNDR RVTD tour. So it seems like she's doing quite well.

Wow, all of this is major news. J-Hope and Becky G collaborated? And they remixed one of the greatest 2006 throwbacks out there?

If any song needed a reboot, it was "Chicken Noodle Soup." TBH I couldn't have asked for a better throwback.
