Tokyo DisneySea's Rapunzel Has Her Hair Taken Apart by Crows in the Middle of the Park
"Oh it's tangled now."

You don't have to be a fan of the Disney movie Tangled to know that Rapunzel is all about her hair. So when some crows had a field day pecking at the animatronic version of the character at Tokyo DisneySea, people were probably glad the character's hair wasn't let down several feet.
In a video that was posted on TikTok, onlookers watch as at least two large crows peck at Rapunzel's hair and take some of it away. At first, it almost looks like they are going to make a nest out of the hair. Instead, though, the crows continue to fly around the moving animatronic and try to take its hair.
A Rapunzel animatronic at Tokyo DisneySea had its hair pecked at by crows.
In the TikTok video, the crows sort of go to town on Rapunzel's hair as the animatronic smiles, blinks, and moves its head from side to side from the window of a tower facade. The robot is part of Rapunzel's Lantern Festival ride. The good thing, of course, is that it's not an actual person dressed up as the Tangled character and is instead a stationary robot at the park.
As someone pointed out in the comments, "The crows observed her behavior and had concluded that she wasn't real and that her hair was up her grabs."
Someone else joked, "LOL there's gonna be blond nests all over the park in a few months."
As the video progresses, the crows actually take large chunks of Rapunzel's hair. Maybe they plan to make a nest, or they just want to assert their dominance. Whatever the case may be, pretty soon, that particular attraction is going to need to have a barrier around it that the crows can't get through.
Someone did point out in the comments of the TikTok that Rapunzel having short hair is "lore accurate," since in Tangled, the character (spoiler alert) chops it all off at the end. She even keeps the bob, so get, maybe Tokyo DisneySea can spin it that way if park officials decide to keep the Rapunzel animatronic and have no hope of keeping the crows away.

Crows are an issue in Japan and at Tokyo DisneySea.
It turns out, crows are a serious problem in Japan. So much so that there was a government crackdown on the birds in public spaces. The South China Morning Post reported that, due to a decades-long effort to get rid of the birds in urban areas, Japan began to see fewer numbers. So, for the birds to make light work of wreaking a little havoc on the DisneySea park, it just adds to the beef that the country seems to have with crows.
People commented on the TikTok to share how funny the interaction is with the crows and Rapunzel, given the country's history with the intelligent and adaptable crows.
"So many different measures to stop them from getting to the trash, and they keep finding ways around it," someone wrote under the TikTok.
