As far as social experiments on reality TV are concerned, we struggle to name one series that's more consistently entertaining—in all of its franchises and iterations—than 90 Day Fiancé.
While most of the couples featured on the show end up breaking up, often on camera and disastrously, there are several pairs spanning the many seasons and spinoffs of 90 Day who are still together today.
Such is the case for Aika and Josh, a favorite couple among fans, who like to routinely check up on their relationship status. Keep reading to learn more about how the Battersons are doing in 2020.
Where are Josh and Aika from '90 Day Fiancé' today?
Josh and Aika Batterson met on Season 5 of 90 Day, after a dating app brought them together against all odds. Josh traveled to the Philippines to meet Aika, and their chemistry was undeniable from the moment they met, which was cemented by the fact that the two got engaged on that very trip.
Shortly thereafter, Aika traveled to the United States to be with Josh and received her K-1 visa. At the end of their 90-day stint in 2017, the pair got married.
But there was some friction between the couple as Aika wanted to have children immediately and stressed on her season that she wasn't getting any younger. Meanwhile Josh, who is already a father to children from a previous relationship, was in no rush to bring more kids into the world.
Josh shocked his wife when he revealed that he had actually had a vasectomy, making Aika's dream to have kids even further from reality. What's more, Aika went to the doctor to ask about her own fertility and learned that she might not have the easiest time conceiving due to her age.
Fans will remember that the vasectomy wasn't the only bomb Josh dropped on his new bride. He had to come clean about his criminal record, and how he had physically abused his ex-wife. Yikes!
Josh and Aika haven't had kids yet, three years now since tying the knot, but they have updated their fans with the news that they're "trying." "Maybe next year or two years we will do it in the Philippines," Aika revealed in a Cameo video, as reported by Soap Dirt. Josh added that he knows "everyone wants to know when we're going to be parents."
Aika and Josh are travel fanatics.
The quarantine might have put a temporary stop on the couple's adventures, from February until June 11, but the most recent post on the couples' account shows a gorgeous view of Lake Pleasant. "We had a beautiful day at the lake," the pair writes, adding that their time in nature was "so good, we're going back this weekend!"
In the past year alone, they seem to have adventured to the White Tank Mountains in West Phoenix, Mount Lemmon in Tucson, a ghost town in Nevada, and even Area 51, to name just a few.
And at least until there's a bun in the oven, they show no signs of stopping. Follow the Battersons' adventures on Instagram: @josh.and.aika.
