Fans of the British royal family, we've got some exciting news to share: Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi have a little one on the way!

Buckingham Palace revealed the royal baby news on May 19, 2021. "The Queen has been informed and both families are delighted with the news," Buckingham Palace said in a statement, according to People.

Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi announced their engagement in 2019.

“The Duke and Duchess of York are delighted to announce the engagement of Princess Beatrice to Mr. Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi,” a September 2019 statement by Buckingham Palace read. The multi-millionaire businessman proposed to Beatrice while the two were vacationing in Italy earlier in September.

“We are extremely happy to be able to share the news of our recent engagement. We are both so excited to be embarking on this life adventure together and can’t wait to be married,” the couple said in a joint statement. “We share so many similar interests and values and we know that this will stand us in great stead for the years ahead, full of love and happiness”

What does Princess Beatrice's husband Edoardo do for a living? What is his net worth?

According to numerous reports, Edo is a multi-millionaire property developer. He is the founder and CEO of the interior design and development agency Banda Property, which prides itself on having a “reputation for creating exceptional homes.”

Edoardo created a charity organization.

Besides being a wealthy businessman, Edoardo is also very charitable. He co-founded the Cricket Builds Hope charity, which teaches people in Rwanda how to play the game. "CBH harnesses the power of sport to promote reconciliation and tackle deep-seated social issues like gender inequality through specially tailored sessions run by CBH’s cricket coaching team,” the website states.

According to his Twitter profile, he is also supportive of campaigns against plastic pollution and environmental causes. 

Edoardo has a son from a previous relationship.

Beatrice became a royal stepmother to Edoardo's son Christopher “Woolfie” Woolf. Edoardo and his ex-fiancée Dara Huang were reportedly engaged for more than three years before splitting. 

According to People, Beatrice and Edoardo knew each other for years and were family friends before becoming engaged. In November 2018, the happy couple sparked relationship rumors, but did not make their romance public until they walked the red carpet together at the National Portrait Gallery’s gala event in March 2019.

Princess Beatrice and Edoardo married in July 2020.

Princess Beatrice and Edoardo married in a private ceremony on July 17, 2020, at the Royal Chapel of All Saints on the grounds of the Royal Lodge at Windsor Castle. Originally, they were set to get married in the Chapel Royal at St. James Palace on May 29, 2021 — but they were forced to re-schedule because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Princess Beatrice and Edoardo announced they're expecting their first child together.

Buckingham Palace also revealed on May 19, 20201, that Princess Beatrice will soon be a mom.

"Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr. Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are very pleased to announce that they are expecting a baby in autumn of this year," the statement read, according to People. The Queen has been informed and both families are delighted with the news."
