Congrats! Princess Beatrice and her boyfriend Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are officially engaged. “The Duke and Duchess of York are delighted to announce the engagement of Princess Beatrice to Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi,” a statement by Buckingham Palace read. The multi-millionaire businessman proposed to Beatrice while the two were vacationing in Italy earlier this month.
“We are extremely happy to be able to share the news of our recent engagement. We are both so excited to be embarking on this life adventure together and can’t wait to be married,” the couple said in a joint statement. “We share so many similar interests and values and we know that this will stand us in great stead for the years ahead, full of love and happiness”
The 31-year-old and her beau are planning to wed in 2020. So, who is Princess Beatrice’s fiancé?
What does Princess Beatrice's boyfriend Edoardo do for a living? What is his net worth?
According to numerous reports, Edo is a multi-millionaire property developer. The 36-year-old is the founder and CEO of the interior design and development agency Banda Property, which prides itself on having a “reputation for creating exceptional homes.”
He created a charity organization.
Besides being a wealthy businessman, Edoardo is also very charitable. He co-founded the Cricket Builds Hope charity, which teaches people in Rwanda how to play the game. "CBH harnesses the power of sport to promote reconciliation and tackle deep-seated social issues like gender inequality through specially tailored sessions run by CBH’s cricket coaching team,” the website states.
According to his Twitter profile, he is also supportive of campaigns against plastic pollution and environmental causes.
Edoardo has a son.
Beatrice will soon be a royal step-mother to her fiancé’s 2-year-old son Christopher “Woolfie” Woolf. Edoardo and his ex-fiancée Dara Huang were reportedly engaged for more than three years before splitting.
According to People, Beatrice and Edoardo have known each other for years and were family friends. Last November, the happy couple sparked relationship rumors, but did not make their romance public until they walked the red carpet together at the National Portrait Gallery’s gala event in March.
Their families responded to the joyous news.
Princess Beatrice’s parents — Prince Andrew and the Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson — said in a statement: “We are thrilled that Beatrice and Edoardo have got engaged, having watched their relationship develop with pride. We are the lucky parents of a wonderful daughter who has found her love and companion in a completely devoted friend and a loyal young man. We send them every good wish for a wonderful family future.”
The Italian businessman’s parents, Mrs. Nikki Williams-Ellis and Mr. Alessandro Mapelli, also released a statement, saying: “Our family has known Beatrice for most of her life. Edo and Beatrice are made for each other, and their happiness and love for each other is there for all to see. They share an incredibly strong and united bond, their marriage will only strengthen what is already a wonderful relationship.”
Well, we certainly can’t wait to tune-in to another royal wedding.
