Ryan Reynolds "Moves" Emilia Clarke's Birthday Because He Doesn't Want to Share

Social media can get annoying because people, themselves, can be annoying. But there's something about different self-promotional platforms that not only come off disingenuous (even when people are trying to be funny), where it feels like someone is trying to force how great they are down your throat. The worst is when they mask their annoying lack of honesty as "just trying to spread positive vibes." Keep your self love to yourself, dungo.
But there are some people who are so unapologetically themselves you can't help but genuinely smile and maybe even audibly chortle to yourself when you read their social media posts and Ryan Reynolds is a prime example of this.
Whether he's making inappropriate jokes about the miseries of being a father, being abused by his #RelationshipGoals wife Blake Lively, or "beefing" with Hugh Jackman, Ryan's always a delight to follow.

Speaking of beefs, he isn't afraid to get into it with anyone, including the Mother of Dragons herself, Emilia Clarke. As it turns out, both Emilia and Ryan share the same birthday: Oct. 23. And Ryan, seeing as he's 10 years older than the Game of Thrones star, decided that he has first dibs to the birthday between the two of them and stated that he isn't too keen on sharing it with her this year.

The actress turned 34 years old as of this writing and celebrated the big three-four by going skydiving for the first time in her life. She uploaded photos of her experience writing in a hashtag, "Who says you can only fly dragons?"
She commented on the celebratory post writing, "What could match the profound existential terror of another birthday? Jumping out of a goddamn plane is what."
As much as Ryan may or may have not been happy for her on her birthday, he wasn't really into the idea of sharing one with the star. So he had hers moved, officially, to Feb. 29, which only happens every four years. So technically, he's quadrupled the rest of Emilia's life, so she should be thankful.
So sorry. I moved her birthday this year. It was feeling a little crowded for me. https://t.co/Mx5CXPKH4T

Excited to announce February 29th as Emilia’s new birthday. Congratulations! 🎊🎉🎈

What's nuts is that even though he's acting totally un-humble in calling attention to his own birthday, it's also impossible not to find the man absolutely hilarious at the same time. It didn't take long for other folks to get in on the joke. Some people were quick to aim barbs toward Ryan while simultaneously gassing up Emilia.
Happy birthday to Queen Daenerys #EmiliaClarke. #GirlCrush 🥳

Oh and to @VancityReynolds ... I guess.
While others, like Hugh, used the opportunity to wish Ryan a happy birthday and simultaneously take a dig at him the same time, pulling up video footage of the young actor playing the drums rocking a shirt that was, well, as Ryan puts it, "a cry for help."

Jimmy Fallon shared a still from a goggles, spit contest between the two men, commenting that their little competition probably didn't age well. Ryan countered that it "has always been frowned upon." I mean, the guy isn't wrong.
Well this didn’t age well. That’s a lot of droplets. Happy birthday @VancityReynolds! Cheers to (probably) never doing this again. pic.twitter.com/aDdc718OWI

It didn't take long for tons of people to roast Ryan Reynolds for his birthday and a series of tweets began flooding in that did just that.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, @VancityReynolds. I MADE THIS JUST FOR YOU. pic.twitter.com/BijS0D3p4d

But there were some heartfelt moments shared with the actor as well, like when he was present for a monumental moment in an entertainment reporter's life.
When I said Mother**?* for the first time, thank you @VancityReynolds and @SamuelLJackson for the life lesson! Happy birthday @VancityReynolds 🥳 pic.twitter.com/EFt4SCMfsg
