Did Trump Struggle With His Teleprompter During Iran Speech?
Netizens have taken notice that President Donald Trump struggled to read his teleprompter during a recent prime-time address. Updating the nation on the Iran war, President Trump seemed to fumble along with certain words like "battlefield."

As the conflict with Iran enters its fifth week, President Trump has declared victory over the Middle Eastern country yet again. In his speech, he said, “In these past four weeks, our armed forces have delivered swift, decisive, overwhelming victories on the battlefield. Victories like few people have ever seen before.”

Political Commentators Question President Trump’s Victory Claims
Recently, senior political commentator Scott Jennings raised doubts about the president’s updates about the war. Jennings pointed out how assaults on Iran in 2025 resulted in similar declarations of victory.
He said, “That’s the same argument that we heard the last time he attacked them and they declared victory. They said they annihilated their capabilities. So, were they wrong? Were they lying?”
There has been a lot of scrutiny about the war in Iran as of late, specifically because of the claims that President Trump made before becoming the president for the second time. He promised the American people that there would be no “forever wars,” and stated that he would bring an end to the affordability crisis that plagued everyday Americans.

However, gas prices have shot up since the war on Iran began, and the country now seems to be attempting to adversely affect energy infrastructure in the Middle East in a bid to hurt Israeli and American interests.
The war has spiraled out of control in the Middle East, with the Iranian regime affecting oil-producing capabilities throughout the Gulf. President Trump has said that the little jump in oil prices is worth it, given the long-lasting era of stability his victory over Iran is going to bring. However, criticisms have been mounting about the length of the war and the president’s conduct with key allies like NATO.
Troops Have Begun Assembling In The Middle East
More recently, despite President Trump’s announcements of total victory, the Pentagon has indicated that USS Tripoli, carrying about 2500 Marines and 2500 sailors, has arrived in the combat zone.
The arrival of the amphibious ship has made the buildup of troops in the Middle East the largest in the region at 50,000. It is expected that this buildup would facilitate a ground assault that would take Iran’s Kharg Island. This island produces about 90 percent of the oil that Iran exports, and has been bombed by the United States before.

Experts have indicated that the island might be relatively easy to take, but maintaining a hold on it will only be possible if the Iranian coastline is also captured. President Trump himself has suggested multiple times that deploying troops might be in the cards to seize Iran’s nuclear facilities and to secure and open the Strait of Hormuz, which is a critical choke point for oil trade.
Previously, President Trump announced that there were talks of the United States controlling the Strait of Hormuz jointly with Iran, which the Middle Eastern regime has denied.
