Wearing the same clothes to a party as someone else can be embarrassing. It's like when you finally get it down pat what you want to wear and show up to a party just to see someone else rocking the outfit you painstakingly lamented over, you just feel helpless. Well what about art work? At one point in recent years people were obsessed with matching their frappes, nails, and hairs with works of classical art, but one person has taken it further with these outfits who match art.
Stefan Draschan is a photographer based in France, according to Bored Panda, who has been working for some time on a projected called "People Matching Artworks." Though it is more or less exactly what it sounds like, the actual effect of people matching works of art is incredibly striking. It's interesting to see the wardrobes paired with works of art. It's almost too perfect and becomes art itself:
Draschan posts a lot of his photographs to tumblr, but he also puts some of the best moments of synchronicity on Instagram. Sometimes people match because of the colors they're wearing, sometimes they actually resemble figures in the painting, but every picture shows how life reflects art and art reflects life. It's quite amazing to see the different combos:
The time investment to pull off something like this must be huge. It's possible that Draschan spends a lot of time at the Louvre and other museums for this collection, but in some cases, things align much more often than you'd guess. :
So next time you're at a museum check your look or you may just end up becoming art yourself. Luckily these are so amazingly elegant you probably won't care too much.
