Kanye West hasn't had the best 12 months.
In November of 2016, Kanye West cancelled the remainder of his St. Pablo tour. At the time, he'd experienced a series of difficult personal setbacks which unfortunately became very public due to his Twitter use and appearances on Keeping up With The Kardashians. His wife, Kim Kardashian, had recently been robbed at gunpoint in Paris in a scary sequence of events which lead to the eventual departure of her longtime body guard.
Afterwords he experienced a fairly public mental breakdown, and had to be taken to the hospital for mental health and rehabilitation. In recent months, photos have shown West looking happier and healthier which is finally nice to see. But a lot of people have been wondering when the old Kanye would be back and performing again since it'd be close to a year since we'd heard from the star.
Well, Kanye West may never be exactly who he was again (who ever is?), but he did finally take the stage in Chicago on Saturday night almost one year after going into recovery, joining Kid Cudi at the Aragon Ballroom. And he looks ecstatic! It's nice to see some of his energy back on stage again.
According to Noisey, the two performed "Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1" and gave fans plenty of chances to capture the magic. Looks like they had an amazing time:
And everyone is freaking the freak out over seeing their man under the lights again:
Welcome back, Mr. West. And to everyone who got to be at that concert—consider yourself blessed. We'd love to see Kanye do more performances like this. He's had a rough road as of late so it's nice to see the Graduation rapper back on the stage doing what he loves.
