Stock photos are a strange thing.
The images are typically shots of mundane everyday activities or situations designed to be used by companies for advertising purposes.
But as one Twitter user, Robdobi, discovered, every so often stock photos take an unusually specific and even dark turn.
Twitter was polarized. Not everyone was quite as enamored of the disturbing photos.
Wow, you people liking this, probably need to work on being a better person.— LisaTheCatDude♿🌈😻 (@LisaMarie197635) July 20, 2017
Robdobi responded, doubling down on the absurdity of it all.
1) how fast it escalates 2) the absurdity 3) the fact that someone photographed this w the intention of selling it— rob dobi (@Robdobi) July 20, 2017
"Pretty poolboy proposes poolside, you won't believe what happens next!"— rob dobi (@Robdobi) July 20, 2017
Yeah, they should be hitting the retweet button instead of liking it.— rob dobi (@Robdobi) July 20, 2017
But there were plenty who found the post amusing.
Some even had their own suggestions for how to make the photo better.
Would be even better if one of them was that drowned security robot, can we make this happen please stock photo companies— Charles Bergquist (@cbquist) July 19, 2017
Who knows where this photo fits in with the series?
Clearly, there's only one way to remedy this...
