Reality star Karen Derrico took to Instagram on June 20 to finally "address the elephant in the room," as she put it, about her shocking divorce from husband Deon.

Karen and Deon, who are famous for starring on TLC's Doubling Down with the Derricos alongside their 14 kids, filed for divorce on June 4 2024, which was reportedly finalized within just a couple of days.

Naturally, fans became concerned and wanted answers about why their favorite TV couple — who have been together for 19 years — would part ways after nearly two decades of marriage.

So when Karen finally opened up in an Instagram video about the split, fans were expecting a bit more than what they got ... and they made sure to let Karen know in the comments.

Karen Derrico finally commented about her shocking divorce from Deon.

In her June 20 Instagram video, Karen told viewers she was ready to "address the elephant in the room." She went on to explain that she and the kids were doing as well as they can be, and that she was focusing right now on planning activities for her children this summer in order to keep them "busy and occupied."

She thanked fans numerous times for their outpouring of love and support.

"I'm doing OK, the children are doing as good as they can be right now," she explained. "Just remember to keep our family, please, in your prayers.

"Please keep GG in your prayers," she added, referring to Deon's mother, who has been battling lung cancer. Karen mentioned that GG has "up and down days" and that it's been a roller coaster.

Karen mentioned that eldest child Darian had just graduated high school while her three little ones (triplets Dawsyn, De’Aren, and Dyver) were starting kindergarten in the fall, and that she was still planning to homeschool them.

"I am looking to do a lot of self-care," Karen said. "I would love to go on a vacation somewhere, one with all of our children, take them somewhere. But I also want to look into more self-care."

"There's a lot of speaking engagements coming my way that I have to go through and choose where I'm gonna go, but I'm thankful and grateful for that, to tell my story and my journey," she added. "So I am definitely looking into just taking care of Karen for a while. We all need to look into that, right? So that's what I'm focused on."

But there were folks in the comments section of Karen's video who wanted more answers and didn't feel that Karen had actually addressed the "elephant in the room."

"Lol — you definitely did not discuss the 'elephant in the room,'" wrote one commenter, while another added: "Did anyone else notice that she mentioned herself, GG, and the children, but no mention of her husband?"

Karen actually took to the comments section herself to respond to all of those who felt confused: "The elephant in the room is my health! I am doing fine!" she wrote.
