Here's what we know.
King Von's final words shared to Asian Doll may shed light on his death.
According to rap-up.com, King Von, whose real name was Dayvon Daquan Bennett, was killed during a shooting in Atlanta. In a series of social media posts, Asian Doll, who was his girlfriend for an unknown amount of time, has been sharing her grief, losing one of the biggest loves of her life. She changed her Twitter handle to Queen Von and poured her heart out, saying that she and King Von were "soulmates."
She also took to Twitter to share King Von's final words, which she later deleted without explaining why. According to her, King Von's last words were, "y’all let them ni**as get up on me ... stop crying y’all let them get me.”
There has been an arrest in the shooting that led to King Von's death.
According to ABC News, 22-year-old Timothy Leeks was charged with Von's murder. The news outlet reports that Leeks is facing a felony murder charge and is currently in the hospital while in police custody, being treated for a gunshot wound. Reports say he was one of the five people who were shot during the incident that took King Von's life.
“Mr. Leeks is in police custody at Grady Hospital where he is undergoing treatment for a gunshot wound,” Atlanta police spokeswoman Marla Jean Rooker said. “The homicide of Bennett [King Von] is closed with this arrest.”
Officials said that three of the five people who were shot had died from their injuries, including Von. The others were still being treated in hospital, including Leeks.
During the initial investigation, there were rumor circulating that Von may have been shot by the police at the scene, but officials said their investigations led them to believe he "was shot during the initial shootout between the two groups of males, prior to police responding and attempting to stop the shooting."
As of Nov. 9, Asian Doll has deleted or deactivated her Twitter and Instagram profiles, likely attempting to take some time away to grieve. Reports and rumors are circulating that a rival rapper, Quando Rondo, was a member of the other group that was involved in the shooting that led to the death of King Von, however, there hasn't been any response to those claims.
Our hearts go out to the friends and family of King Von and the others injured or killed.
