Mom's Genie Wish for a Disney Cruise Doesn't Have the Impact on Her Kids That She Expected
"The crying when they find out it's a cruise is sending me."

Moms are, more often than not, the magic makers of the family. They put together the vacation plans, the fun experiences, the holiday outings, and it's all for their children. So when one mom on TikTok, Crystel, shared in her video that she came up with a plan to use a fake genie lamp to surprise her kids with a Disney cruise, it seemed to be a no-brainer.
And, to be fair, the first couple of wishes go over well with her five kids. But when she wishes for a Disney cruise, which she clearly already planned and spent the money on, she doesn't get quite the response she hoped for. Honestly, if none of the five kids had some kind of meltdown, she might have had people calling her out for faking the entire thing, so it's kind of par for the course.
A mom wished for a Disney cruise with her family and her kids weren't thrilled.
In her video, Crystel presents the "magic" genie lamp to her kids at breakfast. She rubs it and wishes that they could travel to Florida and spend the day there. A few minutes later, her husband comes home and announces that they're leaving. When one of the kids finds their bags already packed in the trunk, it adds to the magic. And really, it's a major parenting win for both Crystel and her husband.
"PROOF that moms are in fact THE MAGIC," someone commented on the TikTok.
Another added, "OK but all I'm hearing is that mom and dad didn't have to listen to 'When is the Florida trip, when are we going, how many days left….?' And the kids get a magical experience."
It might seem like overkill to go through all of this to surprise her kids with a Disney trip, but it also makes the entire thing so much more memorable than a random announcement that the family will be going on a once-in-a-lifetime vacation. Did Crystel foresee the issue with the cruise of it all? No, obviously not. But something tells me it worked out in the end.
Everyone wants to know what happened on the first cruise.
After Crystel wishes to go on a Disney cruise, two of her kids all but beg her to change her wish. But, unbeknownst to them, this thing is paid for, and there's no going back. The girls are even brought to tears and apparently, it is because the last cruise the family went on ended in disaster.
"Wait, what happened last time y'all went on a cruise?!" One curious commenter wrote under the TikTok.
Another agreed, "We NEED a first cruise story time."
"What happened on the last cruise that they hated it so bad?" Someone else asked.
Crystel explains in the comments that everyone got horribly sick on the last family cruise. OK, so the kids' hesitation at going on another cruise, albeit a Disney one, is totally valid. But the idea of doing all of this under the guise of genie wishes is still pretty genius.
Even though some users were curious about what the heck happened on that last cruise to make the kids apparently hate cruises so much, others recognized the magic the mom created. Honestly, is someone cutting onions in here, or…?
The video ends with a montage of clips from the cruise, which show all five kids actually having the time of their lives. Who knew, right? Hopefully it didn't end up being another "poop cruise" for the family.
Other parents also totally get the tears despite the magnitude of the impromptu family trip.
"Wish three reaction is so real," one parent commented. "We surprised my girls to a Disney Land trip and there were instant tears because they wouldn't see their friends at school that day."
Unfortunately, Crystel didn't share any updates about the aftermath of the Disney cruise. And even though she didn't let her followers know what the next plan is for a family trip, she sent the bar pretty high with that genie lamp, not gonna lie.
