Shawn Johnson Welcomes Her First Child, a Baby Girl

Former Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson has given birth to her first child, a baby girl, with husband Andrew East. The couple has documented their struggles with fertility and pregnancy on social media for years now, beginning with her emotional account of her miscarriage on their YouTube channel two years ago.
More recently, Shawn opened up about complications in her pregnancy. In July, she and Andrew went for their 20-week ultrasound and were told that her baby's "kidneys were really underdeveloped but dilated, so they were retaining a bunch of fluid." Other complications made it clear that this wouldn't be an easy road. But, on Nov. 4, Shawn and Andrew posted pictures of them beaming, holding their beautiful baby girl.

"You are our everything," Shawn wrote on Instagram. "Welcome to the world baby girl." She's merely days old and already has over 200,000 Instagram followers over at @theeastbaby too.
According to E! Online, the couple also chose to wait to find out the sex of their baby, so it was a surprise to everyone to find out they had a girl. And what a cutie she is.
The couple has been remarkably open about their pregnancy journey.
They have pretty much documented the whole thing on Instagram and YouTube. Countless photos and videos show Shawn's pregnant belly, their doctor's appointments and hospital visits, and all of the trials they have faced along the way.
When Shawn and Andrew shared the story of their miscarriage back in 2017, everything changed. "We never posted anything that raw and real before and it truly meant a lot to us," Shawn said in the video. "The outpouring of support that has come from us posting that video we could never imagine. Thousands and thousands of you have shared stories of miscarriages and it's just crazy to see how much it's been supported. We love you guys for it."
Who is Shawn's husband Andrew East?
Andrew East is an athlete just like his Olympian wife. He is a football player, a long snapper who has played for several different NFL teams. At the moment, he's a free agent, which hopefully has given him time to help Shawn and their new little one get settled.
The two of them have been married since 2016 and trying to get pregnant at least since 2017. It clearly hasn't been an easy road, but the new parents look totally ecstatic about their little bundle of joy.
What is Baby East's name?
"Our wolf pack grew by one," the couple wrote on the above Instagram post. Although there have been lots of Instagram posts sharing the news of Baby East's birth, Shawn and Andrew haven't yet revealed the little girl's name.
