For some, just competing on a Food Network cooking show like Next Baking Master: Paris is enough of a prize in itself. For others, though, there is a concern about what the winner gets at the end of the season and what is really at stake when it comes down to it. Besides bragging rights, of a pretty high degree, there is a grand prize at the end of Next Baking Master: Paris, and only one person can walk away with it.

Next Baking Master: Paris is hosted by Stephanie Boswell and Ludo Lefebvre, who are famous in the baking world on their own. Stephanie is known around the world as a pastry chef and Ludo is a French chef who is equally as well-known and well-traveled. Together, they lead the contestants on Next Baking Master: Paris, and at the end of the season, one of the bakers will come out on top.

What is the prize on 'Next Baking Master: Paris'?

Despite Next Baking Master: Paris being a baking show about, well, Paris and Parisian desserts, all 10 contestants are American. And in a way, they have the most to prove as they whip up dishes that they hope to wow the judges with each episode. However, the contestants whose creations don't quite hit the mark will walk away from the show with just some experience at having been part of it and nothing more. For the winner of Next Baking Master: Paris, however there is something more.

According to Food Network, the prize is valued at $25,000, but the prize isn't actual cash or a big fancy oversized check. The winner of Next Baking Master: Paris gets baking equipment and professional kitchen appliances from France that, together, is valued at $25,000. It might not be cold hard cash, but it's definitely something worth competing for if you're a professional chef or on your way to becoming one.

Where was 'Next Baking Master: Paris' filmed?

If the title isn't enough of a clue, Next Baking Master: Paris was indeed filmed in Paris. By filming in the famed city, the contestants were able to have an up close look at and experience with local pastry chefs and bakeries. And even though there is a heavily valued prize for the show's winner, you can't really put a price on that.

One location includes the Royal Monceau Hotel, where the contestants learn about using cream in their desserts. But the inaugural season of the baking series promises other high profile Paris locations for these lucky chefs.

"This Paris experience is a once-in-a-lifetime dream for the chefs," Stephanie Boswell said in the press release. "As a professional pastry chef, I know the inspiration they received by visiting the city's most renowned patisseries and meeting the supremely talented experts was life-changing for these up-and-comers."

Watch Next Baking Master: Paris on Mondays at 9 p.m. EST on Food Network.
