Why isn't Nia Sioux in 'Dance Moms: The Reunion'?

On Tuesday, April 30, Nia Sioux took to TikTok to explain why she opted out of joining her former co-stars in Dance Moms: The Reunion.

"Personally, I wasn't going to say anything 'cause I just didn't want to start drama. Not that this would even start drama — it really shouldn't," she said. "Also, I didn't want to make it because I don't want it to seem like I'm searching for attention because I really don't care. I really don't need the attention."

"Hate to break it to you guys, but the reason is quite simple," the OG Dance Moms star clarified. "I just didn't want to do it. Some people think it was because I had sorority stuff. Nope, I didn't. Some people think it's because I'm in school. I am in school, but it wouldn't have been an issue."

She continued, "I just didn't want to do it. That's a good enough answer, and that's a good enough reason."

Despite her decision to skip Dance Moms: The Reunion, Nia still values how much the reality show changed her life. She noted, "I always say that I'm grateful for it. It's where I came from. It's how I got my start. It's the reason why I have such an amazing life now. Truly, I love my life. I have a fabulous life, and I'm truly enjoying it."

Nia also revealed where she stands with her fellow dancers these days: "I love the girls, and I'm really happy for them," she said. "I'm really happy that they get to share how they felt and their experiences. That's just something that I decided I didn't want to do."

Before wrapping up the TikTok video, Nia hinted that she wouldn't rule out the possibility of discussing her Dance Moms journey in a future reunion special.

"I never said that I wouldn't do a reunion show in the future or talk about my experiences in the future," she told her followers. "Right now, at this moment, it was just not the right time for me to do that."
