Photo Of Little Girl Admiring Female Soccer Referee Is Inspiring Twitter

It isn't easy for young girls to find heroes in some of the male dominated areas. One of those is sports. Even though in recent years gender equality has gotten a lot better, there's still less opportunities. It was a huge deal when the NBA had it's first female ref and the NFL made headlines by hiring some women to be on staff. It's refreshing to see it when it is there though, and even the most simple jobs can have a lasting impact on younger generations who see them doing it. 

A little girl named Clara has gone viral for her admiration of a grown woman doing her job. Romper reports that Clara's dad, Nathan, snapped this photo on Saturday or his kid looking completely enamored with a female referee at a soccer game, and it's adorable. She's clearly caught up watching her do her thing and it's amazing to see. It's the small things like this that make it so important to have gender equality in ALL jobs:

Female referees are a rarity. The NFL didn't even hire its first woman referee until 2015, according to ESPN. The NBA has only three, and the MLB and NHL has just one each.
