The death of Charlie Kirk has led to plenty of good-faith conversations about political violence, but it's also led to the propagation of a variety of conspiracy theories related to his death. Candace Owens, who swam in some of the same waters as Kirk, has now added her own allegations to that pile.
Owens, who is known for her radical opposition to Israel, alleged that billionaire Bill Ackman, an ally of Donald Trump, had a "high-stakes intervention" with Kirk just a few weeks before his death when they were in the Hamptons. Here's what we know about what Owens is alleging and whether she has any proof.

What did Candace Owens allege about Bill Ackman and Charlie Kirk?
Owens alleged that Ackman, along with Babylon Bee CEO Seth Dillon, sat down with Kirk in early August to influence his stance on Israel. Owens, who is herself pretty radically anti-Israel, seems to be suggesting that Ackman and Dillon were trying to exert pressure to make Kirk appear to be publicly more pro-Israel.
Owens clarifies that none of this suggests that Israel had anything to do with Kirk's death. She is instead suggesting that some people are misrepresenting Kirk's stance.
"According to another source: Charlie kicked off day one of the retreat by stating that if he tweeted, 'I think Bibi Netanyahu should resign,' he would be unfairly attacked," she wrote on X (formerly Twitter). "This allegedly agitated Seth Dillon, who replied that most people would perceive that to be antisemitic."
"Again, as I said in my show today, this in no way implies that Israel had anything to do with Charlie’s assassination," she added.
"What it does demonstrate is that they inexplicably moved to misrepresent his shifting viewpoint on Israel and the EXTREME pressure it put him under," she continued.
Ackman, meanwhile, responded to these allegations by suggesting that they were meritless and that Owens was using his name to boost her own profile.
"For the record, at no time have I ever threatened Charlie Kirk, Turning Point, or anyone associated with him," he wrote on X. "I have never blackmailed anyone, let alone Charlie Kirk. I have never offered Charlie or Turning Point any money in an attempt to influence Charlie's opinion on anything. In fact, my interactions with Charlie Kirk have been extremely cordial, albeit limited, regretfully so, as I was very impressed by him and his work, and I will sadly never see him again."
What does Seth Dillon have to do with all of this?
Although her primary allegations seem to be against Ackman, Owens is suggesting that Dillon was also involved in pressuring Kirk to have a more publicly pro-Israel stance. For now, these allegations don't appear to be supported by anything concrete, and Owens has not always carefully adhered to just facts. What seems to be in dispute, though, is Kirk's legacy, and specifically, what it might mean about the future of Israel.
