(The case itself doesn't have Bluetooth or speakers to make sound.)

Follow these steps to find your AirPods case if it's lost but nearby:

  1. Open the Find My app and tap Devices.
  2. Select your AirPods. (If you have AirPods Pro 2, you can select Case, Right Bud, or Left Bud, and you'll want to select "Case.")
  3. Tap Play Sound. This will prompt your AirPods to play a ditty that will allow you to find the case. (You can stop the sound after you locate it.)
  4. If you can hear it but still can't find it, you can try using Find Nearby. (Simply shut off the sound and tap the Find Nearby option.)
  5. Find Nearby will show you how far away you are from your AirPods case. Follow the instructions and walk around until you locate the case.
