When it comes to social media, TikTok is one of the most popular apps right now — so much so that other platforms like Facebook and YouTube are working to bring similar features to their own products. With its easy-to-use editing tools and limited 60-second video posts, the platform allows users to quickly become creative filmmakers right in their own backyards.

The resulting videos are usually hilarious (and often quite addictive), and their success is the reason that TikTok is one of the most downloaded apps on the Google Play Store and the App Store. But if you’ve ever found a TikTok that’s so funny you needed to download it to have it forever, you know how difficult it can be to remove the watermark.

Keep scrolling for instructions on how to save a TikTok without the watermark.

How do you download a TikTok?

First things first: Download or open the TikTok app. Before you can download any videos from TikTok, users first need to check that the account is public and that their settings allow other people to download their videos.

After you've checked, you simply have to open the TikTok app, select the video you want to download, click on “Share Video” and then “Save Video.” And that’s it. In just a few simple clicks, you can automatically save TikTok videos to your phone’s memory.

How do you download TikTok videos without the watermark?

Everyone knows how frustrating it is to download a video with a watermark. It’s particularly annoying when the watermark hides different parts of the video frame as it keeps moving around. Unfortunately there’s no direct way on TikTok to download and save videos without including their watermark, but you can get around this problem with a few third-party websites and apps.

Open the TikTok app on your phone and select the video that you want to download. Once you’re on the video, click the “Share” button and select “Copy Link.” Next, you can use a site like musicaldown.com and paste the link to their search box.

Make sure that the “Video with Watermark” setting is unchecked and hit the download button. On the following screen, choose the option to download the video and it should automatically save to your hard drive.

An alternate method to remove watermarks on TikTok videos is with the Video Eraser app, which is a simple app for iOS users that removes watermarks, logos and other unwanted visual elements from videos.

To go this route, you'll first have to use the recording feature on your device to make a copy of the entire video. Then, on the Video Eraser app, tap “More” and “Crop video to remove watermark.” Choose the TikTok video you recorded earlier and it will upload into the app.

Next, select the aspect ratio you want for your video and use the corners of the grid that appear to toggle around and play with the shape. Once you’ve selected the area where there aren’t any watermarks, select “Export,” and the app will do the rest.

Android users can use the Remove and Add Watermark app that similarly allows users to edit out watermarks from videos. First, you have the option to choose an image or video to remove the watermark from. Select “Video” and then the option to “Remove Watermark,” after which you can choose the video you want to edit.

After you select your video, the app lets you remove watermarks in two ways. The first is by using a lasso or rectangle selection tool to mark off the area where the watermark appears. The second is through a simple cropping feature. When you’re done, just hit “Save.”

If you plan to share videos that you download from TikTok without the watermark, please always remember to credit the original creators on whatever platform you share the video to. Happy editing!
