However, with the page flooded with donations, the goal will likely be reached within the next day or so. As of this writing, there have been 28,400 donations totaling $1,414,934.

“In the wake of this loss, Kimberly and the children are facing an uncertain future,” the GoFundMe page reads. “The costs of James’s medical care and the extended fight against cancer have left the family out of funds. They are working hard to stay in their home and to ensure the children can continue their education and maintain some stability during this incredibly difficult time.”

The page goes on to share that donations will help cover “essential living expenses, pay bills, and support the children’s education.”

The outlet shares that various celebrities have made donations, from Zoe Saldaña giving $2500 to Derek Hough donating $1000.

According to previous reporting from Distractify, the actor’s net worth was estimated at $8 million, and at $100,000 at the time of his passing. That figure was based on his film and TV career and the assumption that he owned a Beverly Hills home. However, after further investigation, it appears that the home was being rented by the family.

With the GoFundMe page in mind, cancer treatments ate away at his funds, leaving him with the reported $100,000 net worth.
