It's no stretch to say that Kristen Bell is one of the busiest and most prolific actresses in the business today. Having collected accolades for both film and television with highly acclaimed projects like Frozen and The Good Place, Kristen has made herself known throughout Hollywood as a multifaceted and endlessly talented star in just about everything she touches.

And she's equally as known for having what has to be one of the longest-lasting and enduring marriages in all of Hollywood. She's been happily married since 2013, and she and her husband have not been shy about the steps they take to maintain a healthy relationship. As such, she's been very open about her dating history and her opinions on attraction.

Kristen Bell's dating history is short and sweet.

Kristen has been active as an actress since 1992 (essentially making her an icon for millennials), but it might surprise you to know that her list of past relationships is remarkably short. Before her current marriage (more on that in a moment!), she was previously engaged to Kevin Mann, a film and television producer who co-founded the company Haven Entertainment. Their engagement reportedly lasted five years before Kristen called it off in 2007. Despite this, they would continue to work together on several future projects.

But shortly after breaking it off with Kevin, Kristen began dating actor Dax Shepard. After three years of dating, they got engaged in January 2010. They would subsequently delay their celebrity marriage in protest against restrictions on same-sex marriage in the state of California at the time. Shortly after same-sex marriage was legalized in the state, they re-upped their engagement on X (formerly Twitter) and officially tied the knot on Oct. 16, 2013.

The two of them have been happily married ever since. Throughout the course of their relationship, they've had two daughters; one born in March 2013 and the other born in December 2014.

They've also been incredibly open about the steps they take to maintain a healthy relationship and how romantic attraction to other people outside of their marriage is perfectly natural and can actually be beneficial within a relationship.

In a 2019 interview with Men's Journal, Kristen divulged that her husband is "very direct" about his own emotional needs.

"I'm grateful for that because it lets me in on the way he thinks as far as tending to our marriage," Kristen told the outlet. "He's very open about what he needs to stay satisfied in our relationship because if one partner isn't happy, you just kiss it goodbye."

Kristen also believes that it's perfectly natural to be attracted to other people even in a committed relationship.

She continued to Men's Journal, "I'm quite positive we are not meant to be monogamous. It's difficult and it requires a lot of attention, vulnerability, and openness."

The perfect relationship may not exist in the traditional sense, but Kristen Bell's enduring marriage is a shining example of the work folks should put into making their romantic relationships work.
