Michelle and Victoria Are Sisters Set to Take 'The Amazing Race' by Storm

As The Amazing Race ramps into its new season, which started on Oct. 14, some fans of the show are eager to learn more about the contestants in the series. This crew has couples, former football stars, professional volleyball players, and a pair of sisters who might just take them all down. Michelle and Victoria are sisters who came in second in the competition's first week, and fifth in the second week, and they aren't planning to slow down now.
Who are Michelle and Victoria on 'The Amazing Race'?
Michelle and Victoria Newland are sisters from Lafayette, La. who are both in their mid-30s. Michelle works as a car saleswoman for BMW, while her sister works as a physician auditor. Although they're hoping to win, Michelle and Victoria are also looking to bond as sisters through the experience of being on The Amazing Race together.
"I hope to make unforgettable memories and build the strongest bond ever with my sister," Michelle said when asked what she hopes to achieve through the competition. "A Best friend, like a soulmate and sister all in one. Together, we can make epic dreams come true!" Victoria echoed her sister's sentiments, saying that she wanted to make some once-in-a-lifetime memories with Michelle.
"A tight-knit bond that is unbreakable!!" Victoria said, after she was asked what she wanted. "Go on a crazy and unforgettable adventure with my sister, make memories of a lifetime, and kick butt!"
Victoria added that one of her favorite elements of travel is the chance to explore other cultures and immerse herself in their way of life. The Amazing Race certainly offers its contestants the chance to do that.
Victoria and Michelle are facing some stiff competition.
Although the sisters have proven themselves to be fierce competitors over the first two weeks of competition, Victoria and Michelle have yet to win a leg of the race, in part because the competition has been dominated by Hung and Chee, a pair of married parents who have consistently finished near the top spot. They are dominant competitors, and they may eventually become the competition's winners.
Who are Hung and Chee?
Hung and Chee are married, and Chee works as a financial analyst and planner. Hung is a professional development coach, and they live together in Houston. Other than the $1 million prize that comes with winning the race, the couple is hoping to turn the race into the honeymoon that they never got to have. While they don't have the top prize sewn up just yet, they are definitely heavy favorites to win this year's competition.
Thus far, the competition has already taken its contestants from Los Angeles to Trinidad and Tobago, and then onto Colombia. Like every season of The Amazing Race, part of the fun is seeing the contestants sprint through a variety of locations across the globe. The show knows how to keep its contestants challenged, even as it finds new spots around the world for them to visit.
