It's not uncommon these days for Taco Bell to collaborate with snack brands to create something new for its menu, even if some of these menu items are only temporary. Enter Taco Bell's Big Cheez-It Tostada and Big Cheez-It Crunchwrap Supreme. In June 2024, the fast food chain rolled out these new versions of old classics, and we tried them both to see if they're worth a trip through the long drive-thru line.

Like we said, Taco Bell isn't exactly averse to adding new menu items that include snacks that most people already know and love. Like the Doritos Locos Tacos, which come in the iconic Nacho Cheese flavor. There's also the Cinnamon Delights, which are balls of dough covered in cinnamon sugar and filled with icing. The only question that remains is, are the Big Cheez-It menu items here to stay too?

We tried Taco Bell's Big Cheez-It Tostada and Crunchwrap Supreme.

The Taco Bell press release says that the collaboration between Cheez-It Crackers and Taco Bell is "about taking the spirit of fan innovation to create something truly larger than life." Which, in this case, includes creating a Cheez-It tostada that is 16 times the size of a standard cracker.

And when you take the Big Cheez-It Tostada out of the bag, you can see the clear Cheez-It details. The taste isn't particularly cheesy, or more cheesy than you might expect, but it offers a solid crunch when it is eaten right away, and that's a huge plus. Though be warned, because the longer it sits, the softer the Big Cheez-It gets.

As for the Big Cheez-It Crunchwrap Supreme, there are a lot of flavors involved here. If you know anything about the Crunchwrap Supreme in general, you know that it comes with sour cream, tomatoes, and other toppings. Because of that, the actual flavor of the Big Cheez-It sort of gets lost in the shuffle.

However, that expected crunch is there. And if you're wondering which one of these Big Cheez-It options is the better of the two, we definitely favor the Big Cheez-It Tostada.

How long is the Big Cheez-It at Taco Bell?

According to the press release for the Big Cheez-It items at Taco Bell, they're here "for a limited time." Of course, if restaurant patrons take a particular liking to either the Big Cheez-It Tostada or the Big Cheez-It Crunchwrap Supreme, it's possible that Taco Bell could bring either back in a more permanent capacity.

For now, though, you probably shouldn't waste too much time thinking about it, and just try one or both of the dishes before they're removed from the menu. You can get the Big Cheez-It Tostada for $3.99, and the Big Cheez-It Crunchwrap Supreme for $5.49.

Or, you can order the Big Cheez-It Box, which comes with a Big Cheez-It Crunchwrap Supreme, a beefy 5-layer burrito, seasoned fries, nacho cheese sauce, and a medium drink for $8.99.
