Season 2 of The Real Housewives of Dubai has provided the much-needed good old-fashioned Real Housewives content that has been missing in the past few months. Things feel chaotic with Bravo thanks to what's going on with Kenya Moore and the season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta that's currently being filmed. Thankfully, the Dubai Housewives are giving everything needed right now: the perfect balance of laughs and drama. One source of unique entertainment is Sara Al Madani.

This season, Sara's focus has been on her healing journey. While it does occasionally feel over-the-top on the show, she's clearly sincere about doing what's best for herself. Sara is focused on her future, and the most important aspect of her future is her only son. Who is Sara Al Madani's kid, Maktoum?

Who is Real Housewives of Dubai Star Sara Al Madani's son?

Sara has been very candid about living her life as a single mother to eight-year-old Maktoum. She shared in an interview with Harper's Bazaar Arabia that she split from his father while she was still pregnant with him, making her the only parent he has ever known in his life. She shared in the interview, "Children need happy mums. No matter how much you try to hide your feelings, children can pick up from the energy, and that affects them." As a mother, she prefers honesty, which is commendable.

Children can sense when things aren't right, so she does what she can to keep things honest with Maktoum.

With Sara being so focused on her spiritual and mental health, it makes sense that she's taken a more open-minded approach to parenting. "Children should understand that sometimes things don’t work out, and it’s OK – life goes on, and we search for what makes us happy," she shared, adding, "I’ve been explaining this to my son since he was two." Many choose to hide things from their kids due to age, but most things can be explained in an age-appropriate way without having to hide anything.

Sara Al Madani has a supportive family behind her and Maktoum.

Sara hoped that her second husband would be the perfect father figure for Maktoum, but when she realized he wasn't, the marriage ended. She pays it no mind, though, as she has a very supportive father behind her.

"It broke my heart as my son was excited about having a man in the house. Luckily, my father helps me by being the male figure when there are questions or things I can’t relate to as a woman." Her family overall is very supportive, which is precisely why Sara wants to raise him as she was raised.
