It's hard to deny that Disney Plus's The Mandalorian was a runaway success. Fans all over fell in love with the Mandalorian himself, the story's plot and how it tied into the greater Star Wars universe, and, of course, The Child. It's no surprise that a second season is coming. But before it arrives, let's take a look at who is joining the cast for Season 2 of The Mandalorian.

'The Mandalorian' Season 2 cast includes some very familiar faces and names.

For the second season of the breakout show, it's likely that we'll see quite a few returning faces. Pedro Pascal is reprising his role as the Mandalorian (although we suppose he's rather a familiar voice, not a familiar face). We'll also see the return of Carl Weathers as Greef Karga and Gina Carano, who plays Cara Dune.

But we also have a few names joining the lineup. And they're likely to be pretty well-known to Star Wars fans. Although Rosario Dawson is new to the Star Wars universe, her character definitely is not. The Rent star will be taking on the iconic role of Ahsoka Tano, arguably one of the greatest Star Wars characters created.

Ahsoka was introduced to fans via The Clone Wars. Originally voiced by Ashley Eckstein, Ahsoka was Anakin's Padawan between Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. In a sense, Ahsoka and Anakin were very similar. They were impulsive, frequently questioned orders, and struggled to agree with the Jedi Code. But unlike Anakin, Ahsoka walked away from both the Jedis and the Siths.

In case you haven't finished the end of The Clone Wars (guys, it's been out for four days. What are you doing? Go watch!), we won't spoil the end, but we will say that Ahsoka survives the finale. Which we already knew as she's an important Rebel leader in Star Wars: Rebels

Since The Mandalorian takes place five years after Return of the Jedi, we may finally get to learn more about her whereabouts in the original trilogy.

But Ahsoka isn't the only 'Star Wars' character coming in Season 2. Boba Fett is making his return.

Temuera Morrison is coming back to the Star Wars universe in Season 2 of The Mandalorian. He played Jango Fett in Attack of the Clones and we all know that Jango played an incredibly important role in making the clones. One of the clones, Boba Fett, was raised as his son, until Boba was left having to watch Mace Windu (Samuel L. Jackson) kill his "father".

We've seen Boba return in The Clone Wars and in the original trilogy. And while we thought he was killed in the Sarlacc pit in Return of the Jedi, he appeared again in the game Star Wars: Battlefront, which is considered canon and confirmed that he was alive and well. So the timeline lines up for Boba to be able to return for The Mandalorian. And considering that Boba is a clone of his father, it makes sense that the actor who played his father would come back to play him.

It's also been noted that having Temuera come back opens the door for more clones to return, namely one Captain Rex. Since it was confirmed that Captain Rex did fight on Endor, it also lines up that he would be able to make a return during The Mandalorian's time period.
