What's next for Elle and Noah? The Kissing Booth 2 came out on Friday, July 24, but fans are already eager to find out what the next chapter holds for the love-stricken young adults. The first movie captured how dorky Elle started dating Noah, a high school senior blessed with good looks and a charming personality. In the sequel, Elle takes up an interest in the newest kid on the block, Marco, while Noah gets shipped off to college.
So, what about The Kissing Booth 3? Will there be a sequel?
It's uncertain when or if there will be a 'The Kissing Booth 3.'
Netflix has yet to give the green light to The Kissing Booth 3. However, if the viewership ratings of the first movie are anything to go by, fans should have no concerns about whether or not they will get another, much-deserved update on how things stand between Elle (Joey King) and Noah (Jacob Elordi).
The Kissing Booth became one of the most popular offerings on Netflix in record time. According to Business Insider, it was the ninth most-watched movie on the streaming platform when it came out.
What makes it a truly extraordinary phenomenon, however, is the impact it had on the audiences. According to a report commissioned by Netflix and cited by Digital Spy, about half of the people who've watched the movie have decided to re-watch it.
As outlets like The Wrap state, this put The Kissing Booth in the same category as some of the biggest blockbusters premiering in 2018, including To All the Boys I've Loved Before.
Ted Sarandos, the chief content officer at Netflix, described The Kissing Booth as "one of the most-watched movies in the country, and maybe in the world," in a previous interview with Vulture.
However, as the outlet cautions, the businessman refused to provide actual data — so it might be worth taking these claims with a grain of salt.
The viewership ratings of The Kissing Booth were through the roof. However, there's no information available just yet on how the sequel fared with the viewers.
Judging by the cleverly-devised plot points, the compelling narrative, and the brilliant character development, it's perhaps reasonable to assume that the sequel will garner raving reviews from fans as well.
According to Joey King, the actress playing Elle, it's the fans' support the creators need the most at present.
In a previous appearance on Today, the rising star called on viewers to take the time to express their appreciation of the movie on whichever platform they choose, claiming that this will be a deciding factor in the forthcoming meetings with Netflix.
"They loved the first one so much and they’re the reason that we got a sequel [...] so if they love this one and they make it known to the world and to Netflix, our fingers are crossed that Netflix will give us a third movie because that’s what we want really badly," Joey told Today.

'The Kissing Booth 3' doesn't have a release date (or official green-light) just yet.
The Kissing Booth 2 left off on an open-ended note — with Elle facing a tough choice when it comes to selecting the right college to attend, come the fall semester — which leaves plenty of space for further plot developments in The Kissing Booth 3.
Viewership ratings depending, the next movie could come out sometime in the spring or summer of 2022, Digital Spy hypothesizes. Let's just hope that the trailer will come out very soon.
The Kissing Booth 2 is available on Netflix now.
