Since Charlie Kirk’s brutal murder on Sept. 10, 2025, his close friend and former Turning Point USA affiliate Candace Owens has been extremely outspoken about him.

She’s attempted to debunk claims about her connection to TPUSA and clarify a few things about Kirk.

While she’s made several bold statements, she’s now suggesting that the reason Kirk’s actual funeral and burial site have been kept so quiet is because the service was held as a Catholic Mass and he was buried in a Catholic cemetery.

But wait, wasn’t Kirk an Evangelical Christian up until his passing? Here’s what Owens is saying, and what we know about Kirk’s religion and where his body now rests.

According to Candace Owens, Charlie Kirk’s funeral was held as a Catholic Mass, and his body is buried in a Catholic cemetery. She claimed on the Oct. 29, 2025, episode of her podcast that the reason Kirk’s memorial service went from a large, elaborate event at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz., to barely being talked about afterward is because “Charlie had a Catholic funeral mass.”

Owens seems to suggest that the decision to keep his burial details quiet may have been to avoid upsetting certain donors, possibly TPUSA donors, particularly Evangelical Christian supporters, or perhaps Christian donors in general.

As with many things related to Kirk’s murder, Owens believes there are small lies being spread everywhere, and she’s trying to set the record straight.

However, as far as the public knows, Kirk did not have a Catholic funeral. The only service that’s been confirmed is the large public memorial held on Sept. 21, 2025, at State Farm Stadium.

In attendance were several influential figures who follow the Christian faith, including Rob McCoy, pastor emeritus of Godspeak Calvary Chapel, an Evangelical Christian church in Thousand Oaks, Calif. Steve Amerson, a Christian singer, also performed the national anthem, and Dr. Larry Arnn, a conservative Christian and president of Hillsdale College, spoke at the service.

So, Kirk’s memorial was filled with individuals who practiced the same faith he often spoke about.

In a past interview, Kirk revealed that he accepted Jesus Christ in the fifth grade at Christian Heritage Academy. Though he was raised in the liberal Presbyterian Church, his parents left that denomination when he was around 12 or 13, and from then on, he appeared to embrace the Evangelical Christian faith, the same faith he publicly identified with until his untimely death.

So, where is Charlie Kirk buried?

Kirk’s burial site has not been made public, and it’s unclear where he was laid to rest, though Owens claims he is buried in a Catholic cemetery. Given the divided opinions surrounding Kirk and even his killing, it’s likely his burial location will remain private to prevent potential vandalism, especially since a memorial site dedicated to him has already been destroyed.

While Owens was very close to Kirk and likely knows more about what happened behind the scenes, there’s been no public confirmation that he was buried in a Catholic cemetery.
