Everyone loves an on-screen romance that blossoms into reality. This was evident in the late 2000s when Vanessa Hudgens and her High School Musical co-star Zac Efron went from movie love interests to real-life lovers (it was a relationship that probably all fans of the movie shipped).

However, that was just the beginning of their evolving love lives. After splitting up, Zac and Vanessa began dating other people. Fast-forward to December 2023, and Vanessa was officially a married woman! With that said, let's reminisce about her past relationships and delve into the details of her husband, Cole Tucker.

Zac Efron: 2005–2010

As we mentioned before, Zac and Vanessa (Zanessa) were very much a thing. The couple met in 2005 and called it quits in 2010. And apparently, some of their relationship problems unfolded on set. In 2019, Vanessa shared on an episode of Rent: Chatter that she and Zac were butting heads during rehearsals.

"I remember [director] Kenny Ortega coming around the corner with the most concerned look on his face like, 'Oh no, is our movie going to fall apart right now?'" Vanessa explained. "I pride myself on being a professional, so I was like, that aside, we are going to move forward and do what we need to do and we sorted it all out."

Josh Hutcherson: 2011

Vanessa and Josh Hutcherson linked up while filming Journey 2: The Mysterious Island. They appear to have dated at some point in 2011. They confirmed their split in a January 2012 interview on the Australian breakfast show Today.

The world learned this news after the Today anchors asked the Journey 2 co-stars what seemingly appeared to be a very awkward question: How long have you two been going out?

"We're not," Josh responded, quickly adding, that they did at "one point," but things were over. Josh also teased that Vanessa broke his heart. "That was a while ago, we’re just really good friends now," he confirmed.

Austin Butler: 2011–2019

Vanessa and Austin Butler were first spotted together in 2011 and dated for approximately eight years before calling it quits in 2019. While they never publicly stated they were an item, they would mention each other in interviews.

Their relationship started making headlines again in 2023 after an interview in which Austin recounted the tale of how his "friend" encouraged him to audition for the film Elvis. Fans quickly speculated that Vanessa was the "friend."

In fact, in early August 2019, Vanessa guest co-hosted Live With Kelly and Mark (formerly known as Live with Kelly and Ryan) and told a similar story about encouraging Austin to throw his hat in the ring.

Kyle Kuzma: 2020

Vanessa and Washington Wizards player Kyle Kuzma were spotted eating dinner together in 2020 after Vanessa's split from Austin. It's unknown if they actually coupled up, but if they did, their relationship was very brief.

November 2020: Vanessa Hudgens is spotted with future husband Cole Tucker, whom she would go on to marry in December 2023.

The tick, tick…BOOM! actress and the MLB player Cole Tucker sparked dating rumors in November 2020 when they were spotted holding hands and hugging in Los Angeles. The couple met through a Zoom meditation group and eventually took their relationship to the next level.

On Feb. 9, 2023, they shared the happy news of their engagement; later that year, on Dec. 2, 2023, Vanessa and Cole tied the knot in Tulum, Mexico.

In March 2024, Vanessa Hudgens debuted a baby bump in style at the Oscars. She definitely made a statement in her long flowing gown as she fielded congratulations on the red carpet. Congratulations to Vanessa and Cole!
