HBO's dystopian sci-fi Western Westworld is based on the 1973 film of the same name. It tells the story of a Wild West-themed amusement park where guests can go to live out their fantasies thanks to the android hosts that are programmed to behave in certain ways and are forbidden to ever hurt humans. Except — as with most shows and movies involving androids — things quickly escalate when the androids start rebelling against their programming. Later seasons move beyond the theme park and into the real world of the mid-21st century.

The show's fourth season premiered in June of 2022 and a fifth and final season is in the works.
