To show people what an America without immigrants might look like, foreign-born Americans in a number of cities are striking for a #DayWithoutImmigrants.
The idea was prompted by President Donald Trump's executive order that banned all travel from seven Muslim-majority countries. It also threatened up to 500,000 Green Card Holders from those countries who were in the United Stated legally. The ban was later struck down by two courts, but allegedly the Trump administration intends to reintroduce it.
Twitter users have been voicing their support and showing the extent of the protest.
