Olympic gold medal winning gymnast Simone Biles is dominating this season of Dancing With The Stars. It's almost like being incredibly athletic, coordinated, and disciplined with your body helps when it comes to dancing:
In fact, last season's winner was her teammate, Laurie Hernandez. It's good that these two weren't facing off against one another, because America can't handle that level of competition on one reality show. It may be that Hernandez's easy win has biased some of the judges about incoming gymnasts, because it seems like some of them want to give her a hard time.
On the most recent episode, Biles was getting feedback on her Paso Trio performed with Sasha Farber and Brittany Cherry, and though the dance was great, the response was mixed:
Carrie Ann Inaba made some comments about how Biles expressed herself on the dance floor, mentioning her smile, saying Biles was too much like a "metronome." So in other words, she's too good.
At this point, host Tom Bergeron chimed in to say, "I was waiting for you to smile at some of the compliments. You didn't."
Biles hesitates, looking uncomfortable, then says, "Smiling doesn't win you gold medals."
The audience gasps at such a frank reminder that of everyone in the stadium, she's the only person whose been to the dang Olympics. Also, most women probably knows that if you have dared to walk down the street with anything but a wild grin on your face, some ding-dong will eventually say to you, "Hey, baby, you'd be prettier if you smiled!" or some other nonsense like that. It's invasive and the worst.
And now you have the perfect comeback, ladies:
And in the end, Simone Biles was not sent home:
What do you think of her clapback?
