People Woke up to Find 'Treacherous Tower' Gone on 'Roblox'

There are several things that people seem to need in order to ensure they have a good day. We don't want to mess with someone's sleep schedule; don't even think about coming between someone and their first cup of coffee. 

And take away a person's favorite video game and you're just asking for trouble. People woke up on June 23, 2020, to find one of their favorite games was missing and those people want to know what happened to the Treacherous Tower on Roblox. 

Roblox has risen to popularity over the past few years because it offers something different for everyone. Whether you're a person who loves to develop games, play them obsessively, or like to try something new every day, Roblox offers that. 

Within the platform, players can choose from different games, developed by anyone, and played with people all around the world. "All the online games you see on the platform have been built by members of the Roblox community for members of the Roblox community," Roblox's website explains. 

There are thousands of different games developed by people who love the platform and one game, Treacherous Tower, is one of the more popular ones. In this game inside Roblox, developed by FunNetwork Studio, players try to make it to the top of the tower, while 16 other players are in the game, too. The tower changes every minute, which means new dangers around every corner making the challenge to get to the top not as easy and simple as it sounds. 

The game had over 277 million visits since it was created in October 2019, and then, on June 23, 2020, it just disappeared. 

When players went to play Treacherous Tower on June 23, they were met with a warning that the content was no longer available and that it had been deleted. It was apparent really quick and upset fans took to Twitter to ask what happened to Treacherous Tower on Roblox.  

Apparently, the server that hosted Treacherous Tower was hacked and someone had taken it over. 

FunNetwork Studio took to Twitter to share the news that yes, Treacherous Tower was hacked, and the news went worse from there. 

"We are aware of what happened today and we are very sad," the Roblox creator wrote on Twitter. "A new map of the treacherous tower was created, unfortunately all data has been lost." 

For players who had spent a lot of time building their game, all the data and stats were gone. "I know that many of you had many things, we apologize for what happened, we create a code for you, use 'NoDied' for 3000 free coins!" the tweet continued. 

As FunNetwork Studio mentioned, they had created a new map for the game in place of the one that was hacked on June 23, titled Treacherous Tower [EVENT]. It's clear how much the game was loved, with the new one already having been played 246,800 times in less than a day.  

 Fingers crossed there are no more hacking issues in the future.
