This Photoshopped House Listing Is Totally Baffling

When you're looking for a new place to live, you have to be careful. There are a lot of scams out there. Some listings use fake pictures or photoshopped images. But in this latest installment of Weird House Listings, the Photoshop job is just...baffling. The listing starts out completely normal and it looks like a very nice house! But soon, things get weird...

This is the house. From the outside, it looks completely normal. The house is located in Los Angeles. You can't tell a whole lot about the house from the outside, so let's take a peek inside, shall we?

That's a nice bathroom! It's got his and hers sinks, seemingly new marble countertops, and clean, modern cabinetry. I'm liking it!

And look at that kitchen! Lovely subway tile backsplash, stainless steel appliances, lots of outlets for all your kitchen needs. This looks like a totally normal, wonderful home for any family.

Those dark hardwood floors are nice, and you gotta love a built-in closet with mirror doors. Doesn't this house look lovely? And supremely normal? I mean, sure, it's slightly empty, but that's what you expect for a house listing where no one is living in it at the moment. I definitely understand why the photos would be sparse the way they are and I don't require—oh well, they're gonna do it anyway.

I just... I don't know what to say. This is the worst Photoshop job I've ever seen in my entire life. Why? Why do this? What do you gain from this? What do people looking at the listing gain from this?

It is an awkwardly cropped photo of a couch of very much the wrong size placed in the room in a way that physics would not allow. Truly what is going on here? We don't need it. Let's just go back to the regular photo—oh no, they did it again, didn't they?

Those flowers do not belong there! They do not make me feel as if I have walked into a furnished home. What they do make me believe is that there is some damage or blemish that you are trying to cover up with a huge flowering plant that would not be out of place in Jumanji, the movie with the giant man-eating flowers. We can stop this now—oh but you won't, will you?

The giant plant has moved! I feel now that it is following me wherever I go and I do not appreciate it. And don't even get me started on those bar stools, which clearly apparated into that kitchen from another dimension. The Matrix, perhaps? Those stools do not look of this realm. I am now distracted from this perfectly lovely kitchen by those monstrosities. These photoshopped images are not having the effect they were intended to, I don't think.

This house listing went viral thanks to TV writer Caitie Delaney, who tweeted out the two most egregious photos in the listing to share her horror. Her tweet garnered over 3,000 retweets and 50,000 likes.

Photoshop rarely helps out a house listing, and in this case, the photoshopping was so weird that it actually took away from the rest of the listing. That's a nice house! But now, it will only be remembered for its strange photoshopped photos. Sorry.
