If you look all around the world, you'll notice that there are a lot of differences between people. Hell, even if you drive 35 minutes from my stomping grounds out into West Jersey you'll notice a distinctive cultural, social, and linguistic shift.
When you really think about it, it's kind of crazy that even though pretty much everyone speaks English in America and Britain, depending on which parts of these countries we visit, understanding each other can be utterly impossible.
But even if we use different phrases, shorthand terms, and pronunciations for the same words in English speaking parts of the world, one thing doesn't change: human nature.
So even if this Scottish dude is calling his boss "mate" and texts "av" for "have", at the end of the day he's just like any young man looking to get out of work.
His boss, ultimately calls him out on his BS by breaking down that having "the runs" is a pretty crappy excuse to miss out on work. Oh, and that he didn't even check his calendar before lying to his boss to get out of work. How much Saturday drinking did this guy do?
And judging by Twitter's response calling someone a "weapon" is a perfectly acceptable insult in Scotland.
If I ever went to Glasglow I think I'd just listen to people talk all day, this is amazing.
Honestly, the whole incident sort of reminds us of that "Office" episode in which Jim tricks Dwight into thinking that Thursday is Friday so that he won't show up for work. Though, this Scottish guy got the better end of the deal. He got to go back to sleep after discovering his mistake! (P.S. If you don't know what we're talking about, get thee to a Netflix account.)
