Do you remember Anthony Scaramucci? Who am I kidding? Of course you do. Who could forget his bizarre 10 days as White House Communications Director?
According to the Daily Beast, Scaramucci has been bragging to friends that he may be returning to the White House very soon and that he and Donald Trump still talk by phone. The Mooch has even claimed that he will be visiting the White House or Mar-A-Lago to discuss his triumphant return.
Does he really think that the Trump administration forgot how he outed the president as a source on live television, accused then Chief of Staff Reince Priebus of a felony, or how he claimed Steve Bannon performs fellatio on himself in much more inappropriate terms? Again, this and much, much more happened in less than two weeks time. At least Bill Hader's impersonation of the hedge fund millionaire — or "fidget spinner of the White House" — on Saturday Night Live will live on forever.
However, virtually every source within the White House has said there is no truth to these claims. The White House declined to issue an official statement. And it seems no one believes his comeback claims. "It would amaze and shock me if the president still talks to [Scaramucci] or is considering re-hiring him after what happened,” one senior White House official told the outlet. "And that is coming from someone who works in a place where nothing surprises me anymore."
Even Twitter remains doubtful Trump will allow Mooch back into the White House, or even the past the South Lawn.
However, other people don't think anything is impossible with this very unpredictable administration.
It sure looks like 2018 is off to an exciting start, even if it is just copying 2017.
