Actress and singer Selena Gomez got her start at the age of 10 on the children's series Barney & Friends with her BFF Demi Lovato before getting her big break on the Disney Channel series Wizards of Waverly Place, where she played Alex Russo.
Along with the popular TV show, Selena also starred in several films including Another Cinderella Story, Monte Carlo, and Spring Breakers. After Wizards of Waverly Place came to an end in 2012, Selena shifted her focus to music, release three solo music albums — "Stars Dance," "Revival," and "Rare."
Her 2019 song "Lose You to Love Me" went on to become her first No. 1 single on the Hot 100 chart. Selena has sold over seven million albums worldwide and also has a successful beauty line (Rare Beauty) and a production company named July Moonhead Productions.
In 2014, Selena was diagnosed with lupus and in 2017 she received a kidney transplant from her friend Francia Raisa.
