The road to the 2016 elections was paved with every conceivable twist and turn you can imagine. It made for great television, and now it's going to make for a great season of American Horror Story.
That's producer Ryan Murphy spilling the beans on what season 7 of the hit series is going to be about on Watch What Happens Live. "The season is going to be about the election that we just went through so I think that will be interesting for a lot of people," Murphy said.
Do we need American Horror Story: Election season? Last time I checked I'm already living that nightmare.— Sam 🐦 #RESIST (@the_endverse) February 16, 2017
AHS season 7 is about the 2016 election. It already IS an American horror story, what else can Ryan Murphy possibly do to make it worse?— Claudia Guthrie (@claudhopper013) February 16, 2017

Why do I feel like I've seen this season before it's even started?
When asked if season 7 will have a Trump-esque character in it, Murphy replied with a simple, "Maybe." We don't know what the story looks like just yet, but the possibilities are endless. Russia, alternative facts, tweeting launch codes, wigs that may or may not be alive, and maybe even reptilians. This will probably be their most successful season yet.
While the creators of South Park have completely given up on satirizing Donald Trump because of the creative challenge he presents, let's hope that writers for American Horror Story don't have the same problem when they start filming the new season in June.
